Advanced Electrochemical Genosensor for Zika Virus Detection in Biological Samples Based on Cysteamine‐Graphene Quantum Dots Bilayer

open access: yesElectroanalysis, Volume 37, Issue 12, December 2025.
An electrochemical biosensor for Zika virus (ZIKV) detection is described. A DNA probe was immobilized on a gold electrode. After hybridization with the target (ZIKV), safranin was used as an intercalating indicator. Detection was performed by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), where the current signal increases with the target concentration.

The TH1/TH2 Response Imbalance Zika Virus Pathogenesis: An Immunological Paradox

open access: yesAPMIS, Volume 133, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Since its identification in 1947 and its global emergence in the Americas decades later, the Zika virus (ZIKV) has proven to be a multifaceted challenge to public health. Among the many aspects that remain poorly understood, the complex immunological paradox between Th1 and Th2 responses stands out, playing a central role in the ...

Biosensors for the detection of flaviviruses: A review

open access: yesSynthetic and Systems Biotechnology
Flaviviruses affect the lives of millions of people in endemic regions and also have the potential to impact non-endemic areas. Factors such as climate change, global warming, deforestation, and increased travel and trade are linked to the spread of ...
