Design and Synthesis of CNS-targeted Flavones and Analogues with Neuroprotective Potential Against H2O2- and Aβ1-42-Induced Toxicity in SH-SY5Y Human Neuroblastoma Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
With the lack of available drugs able to prevent the progression of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the discovery of new neuroprotective treatments able to rescue neurons from cell injury is presently a matter of extreme importance and urgency.

Overexpression of a Prefoldin β subunit gene reduces biomass recalcitrance in the bioenergy crop Populus. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Prefoldin (PFD) is a group II chaperonin that is ubiquitously present in the eukaryotic kingdom. Six subunits (PFD1-6) form a jellyfish-like heterohexameric PFD complex and function in protein folding and cytoskeleton organization.

Flavones and Flavone Glycosides from Salvia macrosiphon Boiss.

open access: yesIranian journal of pharmaceutical research : IJPR, 2011
Salvia genus, which is generally called Maryam-Goli in the Persian language, belongs to Lamiaceae family and comprises 58 species in Iran. Four flavonoids plus a steroid compound were isolated from the ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of the aerial parts of Salvia macrosiphon Boiss, using different chromatographic methods on the silica gel and ...

Baryogenesis from flavon decays [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2019
Many popular attempts to explain the observed patterns of fermion masses involve a flavon field. Such weakly coupled scalar fields tend to dominate the energy density of the universe before they decay. If the flavon decay happens close to the electroweak transition, the right-handed electrons stay out of equilibrium until the sphalerons shut off.
