Synthesis and studies of flavone and bis-flavone derivatives

open access: yesSynthetic Communications, 2020
Flavonoids are widely occurring polyphenols of plant origin and well explored in the field of pharmacological activities. Recent studies showed this scaffold to be more dynamic as fluorescent probe. Very rare reports are there in literature on flavones as liquid crystals, for the first time we have synthesized and characterized flavone and bis-flavone ...

Epoxidation of flavones by dimethyldioxirane

open access: yesThe Journal of Organic Chemistry, 1991
The synthesis of epoxides 2 by epoxydation of flavones 1 with isolated dimethyldioxirane (as acetone solution) at subambient temperatures is reported. These labile epoxides were isolated and completely characterized by UV, IR, 1 H and 13 C NMR, MS, and C, H analyses.
