Dynamics Modeling and Motion Evaluation of a Near-Ground Tethered Balloon Cable System under Severe Wind Environments

open access: yesActuators
Weather survival poses a significant challenge for the utilization of tethered balloons. The dynamic modeling of tethered balloon systems presents challenges due to the flexible nature of the cables and the intricate nature of gust forces.

Uncertainty Quantification in Planning Aircraft Ground Movement Operations With Towbarless Robotic Tractors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Volume 36, Issue 5, Page 2542-2556, 25 March 2026.
ABSTRACT This article addresses the problem of quantifying the uncertainty in planning aircraft ground movement operations using towbarless robotic tractors taking into account the inherent uncertainties of the problem, specifically, the uncertainties in the weight of the aircraft and in the rolling resistance of the wheels of the main landing gear ...

System-Level Modal Representation of Flexible Multibody Systems

open access: yes, 2009
The presence of both differential and algebraic equations in the model equations, as well as the number of degrees of freedom needed to accurately represent flexibility, prohibit fast simulation of flexible multibody systems (e.g. real-time).

Neural Network Control of Space Manipulator Based on Dynamic Model and Disturbance Observer

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Space flexible manipulators are convenient for performing on-orbit service; however, the vibration of the end effector is becoming increasingly serious because of the excessive length and mass of the arm.

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 5, 4 March 2026.
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Wearable Metamaterials with Embodied Intelligence for Programmable Control of Human Limbs Tremor

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
Resulting from alternating muscle contractions, tremors can severely limit human ability to perform everyday tasks like walking or talking, due to their disruptive nature. Medication and surgery may not always effectively address tremor control. A wearable device embodying programmable smart metamaterials with adaptable intelligence to meet the demand ...
