Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Application of High-Speed Self-Aligned Focusing Schlieren System for Supersonic Flow Velocimetry

open access: yesAerospace
A self-aligned focusing schlieren (SAFS) system combines the field of view of a conventional schlieren system with the defocus blur of a focusing schlieren system away from the object plane.

A Survey of Control-Flow Obfuscations

open access: yes, 2006
In this short survey, we provide an overview of obfuscation and then shift our focus to outlining various non-trivial control-flow obfuscation techniques. Along the way, we highlight two transforms having provable security properties: the dispatcher model and opaque predicates.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Microflow valve control system design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A design synthesis for a microflow control system is presented based on the interrogation of an analytical model, testing, and observation. The key issues relating to controlling a microflow using a variable geometry flow channel are explored through the

Numerical Method for Aeroelastic Simulation of Flexible Aircraft in High Maneuver Flight Based on Rigid–Flexible Model

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Traditional elastic correction methods fail to address the significant aeroelastic interactions arising from unsteady flow fields and structural deformations during aggressive maneuvers.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Hypersonic flow control using magneto-hydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The focus of the present work is on the use of magneto hydrodynamics as a flow control device for supersonic and hypersonic vehicles. A three dimensional parabolized Navier Stokes solver was developed to take into account the effects of magnetic ...
