Compositional Separation of Control Flow and Data Flow
Every Model of High-Level Computation (MHC) has an underlying composition mechanism for combining simple computation devices into more complex ones. Composition can be done by (explicitly or implicitly) defining control flow, data flow or any combination thereof.

Jet vortex generators for turbulent flow separation control [PDF]
A parametric study was performed with jet vortex generators to determine their effectiveness in controlling flow separation associated with low speed turbulent flow over a two dimensional rearward-facing ramp.

An analysis of the crossover between local and massive separation on airfoils [PDF]
Massive separation on airfoils operating at high Reynolds number is an important problem to the aerodynamicist, since its onset generally determines the limiting performance of an airfoil, and it can lead to serious problems related to aircraft control ...

Use of experimental separation limits in the theoretical design of V/STOL inlets [PDF]
Experimental data from several model inlets are used to generate two parameters which are related to the limit of operation for inlet flow separation. One parameter, called the diffusion ratio, is the ratio of the peak velocity on the inlet surface to ...

Calculation of symmetric and asymmetric vortex seperation on cones and tangent ogives based on discrete vortex models [PDF]
An inviscid discrete vortex model, with newly derived expressions for the tangential velocity imposed at the separation points, is used to investigate the symmetric and asymmetric vortex separation on cones and tangent ogives.

Effects of flow separation and cove leakage on pressure and heat-transfer distributions along a wing-cove-elevon configuration at Mach 6.9 [PDF]
External and internal pressure and cold-wall heating-rate distributions were obtained in hypersonic flow on a full-scale heat-sink representation of the space shuttle orbiter wing-elevon-cove configuration in an effort to define effects of flow ...

Surface flow visualization of separated flows on the forebody of an F-18 aircraft and wind-tunnel model [PDF]
A method of in-flight surface flow visualization similar to wind-tunnel-model oil flows is described for cases where photo-chase planes or onboard photography are not practical.

An analytical and experimental study of a short s-shaped subsonic diffuser of a supersonic inlet [PDF]
A subscale HiMAT forebody and inlet was investigated over a range of Mach numbers to 1.4. The inlet exhibited a transitory separation within the diffuser but steady state data indicated reattachment at the diffuser exit. A finite difference procedure for
