TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Numerical Study on the Influence of Separation Time Sequence on the Initial Thermal Separation

open access: yesEnergies
The process of separating stages is crucial for multistage rockets, directly influencing the success of the launch plan. Different separation timing methods alter the flow field structure within the interlevel zone at separation, influencing the ...

A computational study on flow separation control of humpback whale inspired sinusoidal hydrofoils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A computational study on bio-inspired NACA634-021 hydrofoils with leading-edge protuberances has been carried out to investigate their hydrodynamic flow control characteristics at a Reynolds number of 14,000 and different angles-of-attack.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Heat Induced Separation in Upward Impinging Jet Flows

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2011
A confined, round, laminar impinging jet, fed upward against the gravity, is studied, both experimentally and numerically, under the influence of an impingement-surface heating.

Theoretical and Experimental Studies on the Heavy Water Enrichment by Thermal Diffusion for Improved Performance Under Countercurrent-Flow Frazier Scheme and Flow-Rate Fraction Variations

open access: yes, 2010
The separation equation for heavy water enrichment by thermal diffusion in countercurrent‐flow Frazier schemes has been derived and the average value of concentration‐product term was treated separately in the enriching and stripping sections. The effect
