Concerning marginal singularities in the boundary-layer flow on a downstream-moving surface

open access: yes, 1996
The formation of separation singularities in solutions of the classical boundary-layer equations is studied numerically and analytically for the case of a two-dimensional incompressible steady flow near a solid surface moving in the direction of the main

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Co and Ni extraction and separation in segmented micro-flow using a coiled flow inverter

open access: yes, 2017
The segmented micro-flow extraction and separation of the adjacent elements of Co from Ni sulphate solution with Cyanex 272 is developed using a micro-scale coiled flow inverter (CFI).

Periodic transonic flow and control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The current understanding of periodic transonic flow is reviewed briefly. The effects of boundary-layer transition, non-adiabatic wall conditions and modifications to the aerofoil surface geometry at the shock interactions on periodic transonic flow are ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Large eddy simulation of water flow over series of dunes

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2011
Large eddy simulation was used to investigate the spatial development of open channel flow over a series of dunes. The three-dimensional filtered Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations were numerically solved with the fractional-step method in sigma coordinates ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Biglobal input–output analysis of separated flow over a periodic hill

open access: yesFlow
This paper performs a biglobal input–output analysis of the separated flow over a periodic hill to understand the flow sensitivity to disturbances. We use the volume penalty method to model the solid body of the periodic hill, which is implemented in a ...
