Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.

Robust and Reversible Thermofluorescence in Solvent‐Free Thermoplastic Polyurethane Composites
Thermofluorescent polymer composites with high‐contrast optical outputs are prepared by solvent‐free blending of indenoquinacridone dye into a thermoplastic polyurethane matrix. The temperature‐dependent fluorescence originates from aggregation–dissociation of the dye molecules, regulated by competing hydrogen bonds from the polymer matrix.

Materials exist that are useful for gamma scintillation, radiation shielding, neutron‐gamma pulse shape discrimination (PSD), thermal neutron detection, or high refractive index applications. While certain materials have exhibited optimal performance for each of these applications, none achieve multiple functions.

Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...

Mechanism of the Photodecomposition of Stable Triarylmethyl Radicals
Photolysis of luminescent chlorinated trityl radicals was studied with density functional theory and the decomposition products were isolated and characterized. It proceeds by a 5‐electron electrocyclization then a 1,8‐sigmatropic chloride shift, forming non‐emissive, less stable fluorenyl radicals.

2,7-Dichloro-4-(chloroacetyl)fluorene [PDF]
There are two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(15)H(9)Cl(3)O. The fluorene rings of the two mol-ecules are both coplanar within 066 (3) Å. In the crystal, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into sheets running parallel to (100).

Extent and toxicity of contaminated marine sediments in Southeastern Florida [PDF]
Thirty sites were sampled in southern Biscayne Bay and Manatee Bay in December 1999 to determine the extent of toxicity in sediments. Analyses and assays included: pesticides and phenols in seawater; chemical contaminants in sediment; amphipod mortality,
