Co‐phylogeny and biogeography of the myrmecophilous beetle Paussus favieri (Carabidae, Paussinae) and its host ant Pheidole pallidula (Hymenoptera, Myrmicinae)

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Strict patterns of co‐divergence have rarely been documented other than among organisms and their symbionts. In this paper, using a molecular approach, we inferr the population‐level phylogenies of a Mediterranean ant species Pheidole pallidula and its nest parasite, the obligate myrmecophilous beetle Paussus favieri. We then investigate the role of co‐

Prey Partitioning in a Diverse Carnivore Community: Implications for Reintroduced Fishers in Washington

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
Using fecal DNA metabarcoding, we quantified dietary overlap among reintroduced fishers and sympatric coyotes, bobcats, and Pacific martens in Washington's North Cascades. Niche overlap was substantial for common prey but varied with body size, revealing fine‐scale resource partitioning that may limit fishers' access to energetically efficient prey ...

Assessing the host plants of the invasive apricot aphid, Myzus mumecola (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
We investigated the host plants of the invasive apricot aphid Myzus mumecola (Hemiptera: Aphididae), an emerging pest species in Europe, by combining molecular and ecological approaches. The winter host plant was confirmed as apricot by both methods.

A highly abundant circular RNA from the RMST locus plays a role in posterior fossa ependymoma pathogenesis

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
circRMST (hsa_circ_0099634) is by far the most abundant isoform from the RMST locus. It is highly expressed in cancer cells throughout ependymoma patient samples and is located in the cytoplasm. circRMST knockdown causes cell cycle arrest and induces differentiation, and it is a marker for poor prognosis. The figure is made using BioRender.

Patient‐derived surgical samples reveal the cellular and molecular signatures of glioblastoma infiltration in distinct radiological zones

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Integrated histological and transcriptional profiling of the glioblastoma periphery reveals clinically relevant tumor infiltration beyond MRI‐defined boundaries. MRI‐guided biopsies from contrast‐enhancing (CE), non‐contrast‐enhancing (nCE), edema (E), and radiologically normal (N) regions demonstrate that nCE areas frequently retain neoplastic and ...
