Mechanisms of fluralaner antagonism of GABA receptors: A review
Pesticide Biochemistry and PhysiologyIonotropic γ-aminobutyric acid receptors (GABARs) of arthropod pests are the targets of two major groups of insecticides: blockers (IRAC Group 2) and allosteric modulators (IRAC Group 30) of GABA-gated chloride channels. Fluralaner, an isoxazoline ectoparasiticide, acts as an allosteric modulator.

Selection for, and characterization of, fluralaner resistance in the house fly, Musca domestica
Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2023House flies, Musca domestica (L), are the mechanical vector of >100 human and animal pathogens, including those that are antibiotic-resistant. Given that house flies are associated closely with human and livestock activity, they present medical and veterinary health concerns.

Evaluation of the effectiveness of fluralaner against adult stages of Rhodnius prolixus in dogs
Parasitology International, 2022Triatomines are vectors of American Trypanosomiasis also known as Chagas´ disease where several reservoirs including dogs are involved in the transmission cycle of the causal agent (Trypanosoma cruzi). Considering that the prevalence of American trypanosomiasis in dogs is higher than in humans and that dogs in addition are susceptible of this disease ...

Insecticidal spectrum of fluralaner to agricultural and sanitary pests
Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology, 2017Abstract Fluralaner, as an isoxazoline insecticide, has been developed as antiparasitic (namely Bravecto®) with selective toxicity for insect versus mammals. Even though the toxic effect of fluralaner to several insects have been already examined, but also more agricultural and sanitary insects should be tested before it could be used widely.

Toxicity and sublethal effects of fluralaner on Spodoptera litura Fabricius (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)
Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2018The increasing occurrence of resistance to chemical insecticides in insect pest populations is a serious threat to the integrity of current pest management strategies, and exploring new alternative chemistries is one important way to overcome this obstacle. Fluralaner, as a novel isoxazoline insecticide, has broad spectrum activity against a variety of

Putative pemphigus‐like reaction to oral fluralaner in a dog
Veterinary DermatologyAbstractA 9‐month‐old mixed‐breed dog developed generalised pustular dermatitis, accompanied by lethargy and hyperthermia, 7 days after oral fluralaner administration. Dermatopathological and microbiological evaluations were consistent with a pustular acantholytic dermatitis.

Absolute configuration assignment of (+)‐fluralaner using vibrational circular dichroism
Chirality, 2017AbstractThe absolute configurations of the separated enantiomers of fluralaner, a racemic animal health product used to prevent fleas and ticks, have been assigned using vibrational circular dichroism (VCD). The crystallographic structure of the active enantiomer (+)‐fluralaner has previously been shown to have the (S) configuration using small ...

Fluralaner is an isoxazoline acaricide with potent activity against Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, a major tick species affecting cattle in South America. In this study, larval bioassays were performed to evaluate the baseline susceptibility of R. microplus populations from Brazil and Argentina to fluralaner.
