3D Knitted Interfacial Solar Steam Generator for High‐Efficiency and Long‐Term Seawater Desalination

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The hydrophobic bottom provides buoyancy to keep the evaporator floating, and directional vertical spacer yarn supplies sufficient water. The knitted photothermal layer efficiently converts solar energy via multiple light reflections. The Marangoni effect induced by edge yarn accelerates the backflow of salt ions, preventing salt accumulation in the ...

Application of Foam Mat Drying for the Production of Tempoyak Powder

open access: yesagriTECH
The production of tempoyak powder is a significant attempt to preserve tempoyak. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the proper amount of albumin and maltodextrin to produce tempoyak powder using foam mat drying. This study was divided into two stages, namely producing tempoyak powder by foam mat drying method and determining the characteristics ...

Dimensional Engineering of Wet‐Spun MOF‐Based Woven Fabrics for Superior Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This work fabricated MOF‐based woven absorbing fabrics with dimensional engineering via a wet spinning strategy. The absorbing fabrics achieve a reflection loss of −51.47 dB at 2.9 mm, with an effective absorption bandwidth reaching 3.54 GHz. The absorbing fabrics can be freely bent, stretched, and folded, with individual fibers exhibiting a break ...

Flammability of Facades Across Scales and International Standards

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Facade fires are a rare but destructive hazard that can lead to the rapid spread of fire between the floors and fire compartments of a building. Today, there are at least 21 different national standards for facade fire tests in use around the world, which seek to categorize facades based on their flammability.
