Mechanical Flexibility Enables DNA Origami to Overcome Steric Confinement in Mucus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical flexibility is introduced as a design parameter to enhance nanocarrier transport in mucus. Using DNA origami, flexibility is decoupled from size, shap and surface chemistry, revealing improved passage through confined hydrogel networks. While surface passivation reduces aggregation, flexibility further boosts transport, offering a general ...

Periodic folding of a falling viscoelastic sheet

Physical Review E, 2020
A viscoelastic solid sheet fed from a certain height towards a rigid horizontal plane folds on itself provided that there is no slip. This phenomenon commonly occurs in the manufacturing process of textile and paper products. In this paper we apply a particle dynamics model to investigate this phenomenon.
