Calculation of the Hinge Moments of a Folding Wing Aircraft during the Flight-Folding Process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2019
A folding wing morphing aircraft should complete the folding and unfolding process of its wings while in flight. Calculating the hinge moments during the morphing process is a critical aspect of a folding wing design.

The optical potential of $^{6}$He in the eikonal approximation

open access: yes, 2003
The new data of the elastic scattering of $^{6}$He+$^{12}$C at about 40 MeV/nucleon are analyzed in the eikonal approximation. The $^{6}$He+$^{12}$C phase-shift function is evaluated completely without any {\it ad hoc} assumption by a Monte Carlo ...

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Predicting protein folding pathways at the mesoscopic level based on native interactions between secondary structure elements

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2008
Background Since experimental determination of protein folding pathways remains difficult, computational techniques are often used to simulate protein folding.

Nuclear incompressibility using the density dependent M3Y effective interaction

open access: yes, 2003
A density dependent M3Y effective nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction which was based on the G-matrix elements of the Reid-Elliott NN potential has been used to determine the incompressibity of infinite nuclear matter.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Improved design of stable and fast-folding model proteins

open access: yesFolding and Design, 1996
A number of approaches to design stable and fast-folding sequences for model polypeptide chains have been based on the premise that optimization of the relative energy of the native conformation (or Z-score) is sufficient to yield stable and fast-folding sequences. Although this approach has been successful, for longer chains it often yielded sequences

Binding of charmonium with two- and three-body nuclei

open access: yes, 2006
The energies of the (eta_c d) and (eta_c 3He) bound states are calculated on the basis of exact three- and four-body AGS equations. For the eta_c N interaction a Yukawa-type potential has been adopted. The calculations are done for a certain range of its

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

AlphaFold distillation for inverse protein design

open access: yesScientific Reports
Inverse protein folding, the process of designing sequences that fold into a specific 3D structure, is crucial in bio-engineering and drug discovery. Traditional methods rely on experimentally resolved structures, but these cover only a small fraction of
