AlphaFold distillation for inverse protein design

open access: yesScientific Reports
Inverse protein folding, the process of designing sequences that fold into a specific 3D structure, is crucial in bio-engineering and drug discovery. Traditional methods rely on experimentally resolved structures, but these cover only a small fraction of

Probing Correlated Ground States with Microscopic Optical Model for Nucleon Scattering off Doubly-Closed-Shell Nuclei

open access: yes, 2005
The RPA long range correlations are known to play a significant role in understanding the depletion of single particle-hole states observed in (e, e') and (e, e'p) measurements.

Synthetic, Multi-Layer, Self-Oscillating Vocal Fold Model Fabrication

open access: yesJournal of Visualized Experiments, 2011
Sound for the human voice is produced via flow-induced vocal fold vibration. The vocal folds consist of several layers of tissue, each with differing material properties. Normal voice production relies on healthy tissue and vocal folds, and occurs as a result of complex coupling between aerodynamic, structural dynamic, and acoustic physical phenomena ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Mechanism of DNA origami folding elucidated by mesoscopic simulations

open access: yesNature Communications
Many experimental and computational efforts have sought to understand DNA origami folding, but the time and length scales of this process pose significant challenges.

Deriving amino acid contact potentials from their frequencies of occurence in proteins: a lattice model study

open access: yes, 2004
The possibility of deriving the contact potentials between amino acids from their frequencies of occurence in proteins is discussed in evolutionary terms.

Between Realism and Non-Cognitivism in Ethics, A Three-Fold-Model. A Three-Fold-Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of the paper is to propose an alternative model to realist and non-cognitive explanations of the rule-guided use of thick ethical concepts and to examine the implications that may be drawn from this and similar cases for our general understanding of rule-following and the relation between criteria of ap- plication, truth and correctness.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

折叠变体飞行器风洞试验模型设计与可靠性分析

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2009
The special high-speed wind tunnel test model is a difficult problem in the aviation field. Aiming at the movement performance index of one morphing aircraft for high-speed wind tunnel, the controllable-folding morphing test model is designed.
