Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Thrusting, folding and stratigraphy of the Ghaap Group along the southwestern margin of the Kaapvaal Craton [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The lower sedimentary sequence of the Transvaal Supergroup underwent multiple folding and thrusting along the southwestern margin of the Kaapvaal Craton, between Prieska and Boegoeberg Dam.

Metal-ion binding and metal-ion induced folding of the adenine-sensing riboswitch aptamer domain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Divalent cations are important in the folding and stabilization of complex RNA structures. The adenine-sensing riboswitch controls the expression of mRNAs for proteins involved in purine metabolism by directly sensing intracellular adenine levels ...

FoldPAthreader: predicting protein folding pathway using a novel folding force field model derived from known protein universe

open access: yesGenome Biology
Protein folding has become a tractable problem with the significant advances in deep learning-driven protein structure prediction. Here we propose FoldPAthreader, a protein folding pathway prediction method that uses a novel folding force field model by ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Finite element analysis of the folding process of creased white-coated paperboard using a combined fluffing resistance and shear yield glue model

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2018
This study aims to develop a numerical simulation model of the folding process of a creased paperboard and to reveal the deformation characteristics of the creased paperboard.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Investigations on Quadrilateral Patterns for Rigid Folding Structures – Folding Strategies - Rigid and Curved Folding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A rigid spatial structure represents a three-dimensional structural system in which the size of the singular planar elements is very small related to the whole construction.

Calculation of the Hinge Moments of a Folding Wing Aircraft during the Flight-Folding Process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2019
A folding wing morphing aircraft should complete the folding and unfolding process of its wings while in flight. Calculating the hinge moments during the morphing process is a critical aspect of a folding wing design.
