Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Novel Strecker degradation products of tyrosine and dihydroxyphenylalanine

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2001
Tyrosine was oxidised with either potassium peroxodisulphate or glyoxal. Volatile reaction products were isolated and analysed by GC/FID and GC/MS, derivatised with diazomethane and analysed by the same methods.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Esters of 3-chloropropane-1,2-diol in foodstuffs

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2004
We provide here for the first time the evidence that 3-chloropropane-1,2-diol (3-MCPD) occurs in foodstuffs in its free form and also in the form of esters with higher fatty acids.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Changes in Egg Volatiles during Storage

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2002
The quality of eggs is tightly associated with freshness. New possibilities for the determination of egg freshness were studied. The volatile compounds of eggs and their changes during storage were followed. Three methods for extraction of volatiles were

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Changes during the extrusion of semolina in mixture with sugars

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2001
Wheat semolina and its mixtures with 5% glucose, fructose of sucrose were processed in a sigle screw extruder at the maximum temperature of 140°C and the processing time of 30 s.
