Food consumption in Gerris (Hemiptera)

The parameters influencing food consumption in larvae and adults of five species of Gerris were studied. An experimental components analysis was utilized with emphasis placed on measurements of the length of time the insects spent handling food items, and the amount of food in the gut at any one time.

Obesity, anxiety, and food consumption

This study examined the relation between level of anxiety (relaxation, low, and high) and food consumption among obese and normal weight individuals. Obese individuals ate significantly less when highly anxious than when mildly anxious. Their consumption when relaxed was at an intermediate level.
