Degradation of amoxicillin residues in chicken meat with a combination of ozonation and ultrasound

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
This study aims to investigate the prevalence of amoxicillin (AMX) residues in chicken meat, as well as the influence of the ozonation process (O3) combined with ultrasound on the degradation of AMX in samples with concentrations above the Maximum ...

Contaminants in the cow's milk we consume? Pasteurization and other technologies in the elimination of contaminants [version 1; peer review: 3 approved, 1 approved with reservations]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2022
Cow's milk is currently the most consumed product worldwide. However, due to various direct and indirect contamination sources, different chemical and microbiological contaminants have been found in cow's milk.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Evaluation of ozonation and ultrasound combination for the degradation of pesticide residues in guava: in vitro application

open access: yesDiscover Food
Pesticide residues in food pose significant health and environmental risks, necessitating effective decontamination strategies. Conventional removal methods, such as washing and peeling, are often insufficient for systemic pesticides that penetrate fruit

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Immunoassays for pesticide analysis in environmental and food matrices

open access: yes, 1998
Immunochemical methods have increased considerably in the past years, and many examples of small and large scale studies have demonstrated the reliability of the immunotechniques for control and monitoring gf contaminant residues in different kinds of ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
