Effects of food attributes on hunger and food intake

International Journal of Obesity, 2000
To explore the relative importance of a food's macronutrient composition, energy value, energy density, fiber content, weight, volume, sensory properties and rheology on hunger and food intake.Preloads of peanuts, peanut butter (rheology control), almonds (tree nut), chestnuts (macronutrient control), chocolate (sensory control), rice cakes (volume ...

Effect of food on hepatic blood flow: Implications in the “food effect” phenomenon

Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1983
It has been suggested that alteration in the apparent oral bioavailability of propranolol taken with food may be due to a transient increase in QH. To investigate this hypothesis more closely, the time course of effect of a high-protein meal on QH was examined with the model compound ICG.

Effect of Food on Bioavailability of Rifampicin

The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1983
Abstract: The area under the plasma concentration‐time curve of rifampicin was determined with and without food administration in six healthy male volunteers. Rifampicin (10 mg/kg) was administered orally in the fasting state on one occasion and following a wheat‐based breakfast on another.

The Effect of Food on the Pharmacokinetics of Zileuton

Clinical Pharmacokinetics, 1995
The present study was undertaken to assess the effect of food on the pharmacokinetic parameters of zileuton. In a nonblinded crossover study, 18 healthy male volunteers who had fasted overnight were randomised to receive a single oral dose of zileuton 600mg in the presence or absence of food consisting of a standardised breakfast on the following ...

Effect of Food on the Bioavailability of Bendroflumethiazide

Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1978
ABSTRACT. Bendroflumethiazide (BFT), 10 mg, was given orally to eight subjects after fasting overnight and together with a meal. Concentrations of the diuretic in plasma and urine were determined by GLC. As judged by AUC and urinary recovery of BFT, the bioavailability of the diuretic was not influenced by concomitant intake of a meal.

Effects of Food on the Pharmacokinetics of Methylphenidate

Pharmaceutical Research, 2001
To test the hypothesis that the pharmacokinetics of d-methylphenidate (d-MPH) would be altered by food ingested before administration of an immediate release formulation (dl-MPH- IR) but not when food is ingested before a slow release formulation (dl-MPH-SR).A randomized, four-phase, open label, crossover design was conducted in 24 healthy men who each
