A Small‐Molecule DEPTAC Rescues Cognitive Deficits by Targeted Dephosphorylation of Pathological Tau

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TP2 is a fully synthetic small‐molecule dephosphorylation‐targeting chimera that recruits endogenous PP2A‐Bα to Tau, enabling targeted removal of pathological phosphate modifications. In two tauopathy mouse models, systemic TP2 reduces Tau pathology, preserves neuronal and synaptic integrity, improves neuroimmune homeostasis, and rescues cognition ...

Polystyrene Nanoplastics Drive β‐Cell Dedifferentiation Through Dendritic Cell‐Intrinsic MHC‐I‐Dependent Inflammatory Crosstalk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polystyrene nanoplastics disrupt pancreatic immune–endocrine homeostasis by promoting MHC‐I‐associated dendritic cell activation and inflammatory crosstalk with β cells. This immune remodeling drives β‐cell dedifferentiation, impairs insulin secretion, and aggravates metabolic dysfunction, revealing a previously unrecognized immunometabolic mechanism ...

Rapid Photogelation of Low‐Concentration Polymer Solutions via Photodimerization of o‐Ethylnitrobenzene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Upon UV irradiation, flexible and tough hydrogels are formed rapidly (>0.5 s) from dilute (>0.5 wt%) solutions of o‐ethylnitrobenzene–modified PVA. At ∼1.5 wt%, the hydrogels withstand up to 10 MPa compression, remain handleable even after 200‐fold swelling.

Occupational dermatitis in food handlers and bakers

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1989
Of 1346 patients with suspected contact dermatitis examined in Toronto, 10 bakers and 10 food handlers were found to have occupational contact dermatitis. Although not dissimilar in age, years in the trade, or length of illness, men were significantly overrepresented in the population of bakers (100% vs 40%, p less than 0.05).
