Apparatus Design and Finite Element Modeling for Controlled‐Speed Nakazima Experiments

open access: yesEngineering Reports
A scaled apparatus was designed for conducting Nakazima stretch‐forming tests with a rotating tool. A 3D finite element model was developed and validated to simulate the modified Nakazima experiments.

The secondary forming limit diagrams of sheet metals.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series A, 1985
The forming limit diagrams of proportionally pre-strained metal sheets (secondary FLDs) such as killed steel, copper and aluminium sheets are experimentally determined for combination of uniaxial and equi-biaxial tension as well as the common FLDs for simple loadings.

Dynamical Heterogeneity and Nonlinear Susceptibility in Short-Ranged Attractive Supercooled Liquids

open access: yes, 2007
Recent work has demonstrated the strong qualitative differences between the dynamics near a glass transition driven by short-ranged repulsion and one governed by short-ranged attraction.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Evaluation of the formability of 90/10 brass produced by different casting processes and investigation of the effect of Forming Limit Diagram determination procedure

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
The present work investigated the formability of 1.1 mm thick sheets of 90/10 brass (UNS C22000) alloy obtained by two different process routes: continuous casting (CC) and semi-continuous casting (SCC).

The Initial Mass Function of Low-Mass Stars and Brown Dwarfs in Taurus

open access: yes, 2000
By combining deep optical imaging and infrared spectroscopy with data from the Two-Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS) and from previous studies (e.g., Briceno et al.), I have measured the Initial Mass Function (IMF) for a reddening-limited sample in four ...

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Formability limits, damage and fracture mechanisms in AA5182 Al-Mg sheets formed under subzero temperature conditions [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
The applicability of in demand lightweight Al-Mg alloys is constrained by limited formability and surface defects caused by the Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) effect, which manifests as serrated plastic flow due to dynamic strain aging.

Disentangling the role of environmental processes in galaxy clusters

open access: yes, 2012
In this work we present the results of a novel approach devoted to disentangle the role of the environmental processes affecting galaxies in clusters. This is based on the analysis of the NUV-r' distributions of a large sample of star-forming galaxies in

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.
