Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Enzymatic interesterification to produce zero-trans and dialkylketones-free fats from rapeseed oil

open access: yesOilseeds and fats, crops and lipids, 2022
This study aims to evaluate the potential of applying enzymatic interesterification (EIE) to produce new healthy zero-trans high vitaminic content margarine fats, based on rapeseed oil (RO) only, with a specific focus on process-induced contaminants: the

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Extended Formulations for Polygons [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete & Computational Geometry, 2012
The extension complexity of a polytope $P$ is the smallest integer $k$ such that $P$ is the projection of a polytope $Q$ with $k$ facets. We study the extension complexity of $n$-gons in the plane. First, we give a new proof that the extension complexity of regular $n$-gons is $O(\log n)$, a result originating from work by Ben-Tal and Nemirovski (2001).

Antibody association in solution: cluster distributions and mechanisms

open access: yesmAbs
Understanding factors that affect the clustering and association of antibodies molecules in solution is critical to their development as therapeutics. For 19 different monoclonal antibody (mAb) solutions, we measured the viscosities, the second virial ...

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Formulation and Standardization of Polyherbal Antihyperlipidemic Formulation

open access: yesJournal of Natural Remedies, 2021
Hyperlipidemia is a very common medical condition. A fairly less invasive, more effective and efficient method with lower or no side effects to treat Hyperlipidemia are to be developed. Thus, use of traditional herbal medication can be a relevant solution to it.
