Accounting for psychological problems: How user-friendly is formulation?

open access: yes, 2009
Formulation, with its use of psychosocial explanations for psychological problems, has the potential to normalise and destigmatise clients’ difficulties. However, we present findings from a recent study which suggest that for mental health service users,

Effect of Formulation Factors and Oxygen Levels on the Stability of Aqueous Injectable Solution Containing Pemetrexed

open access: yes, 2020
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of various parameters at each control strategy in drug product degradation on the stability of pemetrexed in injectable aqueous solution. A forced degradation study confirmed that oxidation is the main

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Numerical stabilization of the Stokes problem in vorticity–velocity–pressure formulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We work on a vorticity, velocity and pressure formulation of the bidimensional Stokes problem for incompressible fluids. In previous papers, the authors have developed a natural implementation of this scheme.

20S-Protopanaxadiol, an aglycosylated ginsenoside metabolite, induces hepatic stellate cell apoptosis through liver kinase B1–AMP-activated protein kinase activation

open access: yesJournal of Ginseng Research, 2017
Background: Previously, we reported that Korean Red Ginseng inhibited liver fibrosis in mice and reduced the expressions of fibrogenic genes in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs).

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Formulation in psychiatry - a guide to developing competence

open access: yes, 2022
Objective: This paper highlights the importance of psychiatric formulation and provides guidance to those learning the art of formulation. To achieve this, we explore the guidance on formulation that has been previously published in Australasian ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
