Oxidative stress and cancer: have we moved forward?
Biochemical Journal, 2006‘Reactive species’ (RS) of various types are formed in vivo and many are powerful oxidizing agents, capable of damaging DNA and other biomolecules. Increased formation of RS can promote the development of malignancy, and the ‘normal’ rates of RS generation may account for the increased risk of cancer development in the aged. Indeed, knockout of various

A soft switched forward converter without current and voltage stress
2001 IEEE 32nd Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37230), 2002This paper presents a steady-state analysis with a description of a two transistor forward converter operating in soft switching mode without voltage and current stresses. The use of a soft commutation cell allows the auxiliary switch to operate in ZCS mode at turning on and ZVS mode at turning off.

Forward testing effect under acute psychosocial retrieval stress
2023The forward testing effect (FTE) refers to the finding that testing of previously studied information improves memory for subsequently studied newer information. Recent research showed that the FTE is immune to acute psychosocial encoding/retrieval stress, i.e., stress that is induced before initial encoding.

Management of Atmospheric Stresses in Major Crops: Status and Way Forward
Indian Journal of Dryland Agricultural Research and DevelopmentAbstractAgriculture worldwide is facing serious challenges due to climate change and atmospheric stresses, which are threatening the productivity of essential crops like rice, wheat, maize, and pulses. This paper examines how major atmospheric stressors such as rising temperatures, drought, elevated CO2, and ozone are impacting these crops, focusing on
