Long‐term surveillance reveals hybridization by nuclear reassortment and intercontinental spread as major evolutionary drivers in wheat yellow rust

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Documented incursions of Puccinia striiformis 2009–2023 based on sequential resampling of MLGs/pathogen races on different continents. Summary Evolutionary forces affecting crop pathogens, including hybridization and long‐distance dispersal (LDD), may have strong implications for food security and sustainable plant disease control at global scales ...

TEAM‐UP: Mixed‐Methods Data for Understanding Traditional and Modern Contraceptive Use Dynamics in Four Sub‐Saharan African Countries

open access: yesStudies in Family Planning, EarlyView.
Abstract This Data Article describes a novel dataset from the “Re‐Examining Traditional Method Use” (TEAM‐UP) project, which systematically collected data on the measurement of and motivations for use of non‐modern (traditional and folkloric) contraceptive methods and/or modern methods, in four sub‐Saharan African countries: the Democratic Republic of ...

Recent Advances in Boron Removal From Geothermal Waters: A Review

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
This review provides a comprehensive overview of boron removal technologies from geothermal fluids and highlights the limitations of conventional treatment methods. Ion exchange, hybrid processes and membrane filtration are identified as the most dominant approaches in recent studies.

Reward responsivity and the development of nicotine dependence

open access: yes, 2008
Different theories have been proposed to explain the development of nicotine dependence. Some theories suggest that nicotine has direct reinforcing properties, either positive or negative.

Sleep Deprivation and Neuronal Hyperexcitation Share Transcriptomic Signatures

open access: yesNeuropsychopharmacology Reports, Volume 46, Issue 3, September 2026.
This study demonstrated that sleep deprivation induces transcriptomic changes in mice and rats similar to those observed in various models of neuronal hyperexcitation. These findings suggest a potential link between sleep deprivation and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Understanding the Link Between Social Support Networks, Self‐Efficacy and Future Orientation During Emerging Adulthood: A Comparison of At‐Risk and Non‐at‐Risk Emerging Adults

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, Volume 31, Issue 3, Page 1664-1675, August 2026.
ABSTRACT At‐risk emerging adults may be less inclined to invest in future goals, yet the mechanisms underlying their future orientation (FO) remain unclear. Therefore, this study examined how social support network attributes contribute to FO in at‐risk and non‐at‐risk emerging adults and the mediating role of self‐efficacy.

Dynamical Modulation of Dual‐Band Thermal Emission in a Graphene‐2D‐hBN‐LiV2O5 Heterostructure

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
A van der Waals heterostructure combining graphene, 2D‐hBN, and LiV2O5 enables dynamically tunable dual‐band mid‐infrared thermal emission with narrow spectral features. Plasmon–phonon strong coupling yields five hybrid polariton branches, whereas coupled‐oscillator models quantify mode mixing and Rabi splittings (up to 27.72 meV via hBN‐thickness ...
