E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

On a Generic Fractional Derivative Associated with the Riemann–Liouville Fractional Integral

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, a generic fractional derivative is defined as a set of the linear operators left-inverse to the Riemann–Liouville fractional integral. Then, the theory of the left-invertible operators developed by Przeworska-Rolewicz is applied to deduce its properties.

Approximations for Fractional Derivatives and Fractional Integrals Using Padé Approximation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics
This paper tackles the persistent challenge of slow convergence and numerical instability in the fractional calculus when applied to power series–representable functions , limitations that compromise accuracy in scientific applications. A novel reformulation of fractional derivatives and integrals is achieved by applying Padé approximation to ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

A Framework for Derivative Pricing in the Fractional Black-Scholes Market [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this paper is to develop a framework for evaluating derivatives if the underlying of the derivative contract is supposed to be driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter greater than 0.5.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

On Improved Simpson-Type Inequalities via Convexity and Generalized Fractional Operators

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
In this work, we develop novel Simpson-type inequalities for mappings with convex properties by employing operators for tempered fractional integrals. These findings expand upon and refine classical results, including those linked to Riemann–Liouville ...

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Extended Ostrowski Type Inequalities Involving Conformable Fractional Integrals

open access: yes, 2022
The purpose of this work is to establish extended Ostrowski type inequalities involving conformable fractional integrals. We first give an identity for functions whose ??fractional derivatives are bounded.
