Hermite–Hadamard–Mercer type inequalities for fractional integrals: A study with h-convexity and ψ-Hilfer operators

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
In this paper, we first prove a generalized fractional version of Hermite-Hadamard-Mercer type inequalities using h-convex functions by means of ψ-Hilfer fractional integral operators.

New fractional integral unifying six existing fractional integrals

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we introduce a new fractional integral that generalizes six existing fractional integrals, namely, Riemann-Liouville, Hadamard, Erdélyi-Kober, Katugampola, Weyl and Liouville fractional integrals in to one form. Such a generalization takes the form \[ \left({}^ρ\mathcal{I}^{α, β}_{a+;η, κ}f\right)(x)=\frac{ρ^{1-β}x^κ}{Γ(α)}\int_a^x \frac ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...
