"The Minskyan System, Part II: Dynamics of the Minskyan Analysis and the Financial Fragility Hypothesis" [PDF]

open access: yes
This is the second part of a three-part analysis of the Minskyan framework. It studies in detail the dynamics at the root of the endogenous financial weakening of capitalist economic systems.

Seismic Fragility Analysis of Bridge Pier

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Abstract Bridges are classified as lifeline structures as they need to be functional in an earthquake event. The performance-based analysis of the existing bridges is important for the stakeholders. Information on seismic performance in terms of fragility of existing bridges in the country can provide valuable information to the decision-

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Seismic Fragility Analysis of Shield Tunnels Considering the Flexural Capacity of Longitudinal Joints

open access: yesBuildings
The longitudinal joints in shield tunnels connect the segments in a ring and can predominantly influence the mechanical behavior of the lining. The axial force environment influences the flexural capacity of longitudinal joints in shield tunnels and is a

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Analysis on the Time‐Varying Fragility of Offshore Concrete Bridge

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
For offshore bridges, the most prominent problem in the whole life cycle is that it is in an earthquake prone zone and an offshore corrosion environment at the same time. A nonlinear dynamic analysis model is set up for an offshore multispan and continuous rigid frame bridge based on the OpenSEES platform.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Bank Concentration and Fragility: Impact and Mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes
Public policy debates and theoretical disputes motivate this paper%u2019s examination of (i) the relationship between bank concentration and banking system fragility and (ii) the mechanisms underlying this relationship.
