Unveiling Salt Tolerance Mechanisms in Plants: Integrating the KANMB Machine Learning Model With Metabolomic and Transcriptomic Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Salt stress endangers coastal cereal crops, requiring resilient crop solutions. This study employs machine learning (KANMB) to analyze multi‐omics data from halophyte Spartina alterniflora, revealing 226 salt‐stress biomarkers and linking them to tolerance pathways. The MYB gene SaMYB35 regulates flavonoid biosynthesis under salinity.

Smart Organic–Inorganic Copolymer Nanoparticles Distinguish Between Microglia and Cancer Cells for Synergistic Immunotherapy in Glioma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment‐responsive nanoagonists are developed using an organic–inorganic copolymer composed of the polymer (PC6AB) and manganous phosphate ionic oligomers (MnP). PC6AB with membranolytic activity selectively interacts with tumor cell membranes to induce immunogenic cell death, while MnP activates the STING pathway in immune cells ...

Super-Jeans fragmentation in massive star-forming regions revealed by triangulation analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Understanding the fragmentation of the gas cloud and the formation of massive stars remains one of the most challenging questions of modern astrophysical research. Either the gas fragmentation in a Jeans-like fashion, after which the fragments grow through accretion, or the fragmentation length is larger than the Jeans length from the start.

Dynamic Cap‐Mediated Substrate Access and Potent Inhibitor Design of Monkeypox Virus I7L Protease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The first crystal structure of MPXV I7L protease, revealing its unique dimeric form is resolved. The structures and MD simulations uncovered a dynamic cap region that regulates substrate access to the active site. The structural basis of substrate recognition and the catalytic mechanism are elucidated, which led to the development of a FRET‐based assay

Structure‐guided identification of a selective sulfonamide‐based inhibitor targeting the human carbonic anhydrase VA isoform

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 356, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Combining ligand‐based and structure‐based methodologies, the applied virtual screening approach identified a collection of sulfonamides targeting the human carbonic anhydrase (hCA) VA isoform. 2‐(3,4‐Dihydro‐2H‐quinolin‐1‐yl)‐N‐(4‐sulfamoylphenyl)acetamide was identified as a potent and selective lead compound as a candidate for further exploitation ...

Fast pH‐Driven Solubilization Method of Realgar (As4S4) to Reduce the Toxicity of Arsenic [As(III)] for Medicinal Purposes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Arsenic trioxide transformed acute promyelocytic leukemia therapy and shows promise against HIV. A new method to solubilize the mineral realgar produces different arsenic species depleting the main arsenic target, nuclear PML protein, and retaining effects on leukemic and HIV reservoir cells, while minimizing off‐target damage.

Unveiling the Over‐Lithiation Behavior of NCM523 Cathode Towards Long‐Life Anode‐Free Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A comprehensive investigation of the over‐lithiation behavior of Li1+xNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 (Li1+xNCM523) reveals a critical threshold at x = 0.7, beyond which the structural stability of the cathode deteriorates due to irreversible reduction of transition metal ions.
