An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Investigation of an object-detection approach for estimating the rock fragmentation in the open-pit conditions

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика
Optimization of open-pit mining is one of significant tasks to date, with the blasting quality estimation being a key factor. The blasting quality is determined through evaluating the number of fragments and block size distribution, the so-called ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Spatio-temporal variation in snow cover area and its fragmentation in Northeast China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Under the backdrop of climate warming and changes in snow cover area, the spatial fragmentation characteristics of snow cover need to be studied in depth.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Can Hediste diversicolor Speed Up the Breakdown of Cigarette Butts in Marine Sediments?

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Cigarette butts (CBs) are non-biodegradable harmful residues of synthetic origin and are widespread in marine environments around the world. Although environmental factors are often primarily responsible for the fragmentation of microplastics in the ...

Fragmentation, Orality and Magic Realism in Kezilahabi's Novel Nagona

open access: yesNordic Journal of African Studies, 2003
This article is a response to Gromov's article entitled Nagona and Mzingile: Novel, Tale or Parable? Contrary to Gromov's thesis on the structural ambiguity of the novel, we posit that the structure of this novel is discernible if we consider the ...

Relativistic correction to gluon fragmentation function into pseudoscalar quarkonium

open access: yes, 2016
Inspired by the recent measurements of the $\eta_c$ meson production at LHC, we investigate the relativistic correction effect for the fragmentation function of the gluon into $\eta_c$, which constitutes the crucial nonperturbative elements to understand
