The A3 adenosine receptors (A3ARs) are overexpressed in prostate cancer. AR 292 and AR 357, as A3AR antagonists, are capable of blocking proliferation, modulating the expression of drug transporter genes involved in chemoresistance, ferroptosis, and the hypoxia response, and inducing cell death.

Enzymatic Synthesis of Palm Based Fatty Monoethanolamide [PDF]
Fatty monoethanolamides, derived from a reaction between triglyceride, palm kernel olein (PKL) or free fatty acids and primary amine alcohol, monoethanolamine (MEA) can be synthesised enzymatically, under milder conditions than the energy intensive ...

Two biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease, amyloid β‐peptide (Aβ) and tau, induce the transformation of U‐251 and other glioblastoma cell lines into neurotoxic A1‐like reactive astrocytes. This transformation is produced by cytokines and is followed by upregulation of PMCA activity and isoform expression, and is closely associated with inflammation, as ...

Boundaries of photosynthesis: adaptations of carbon fixation in extreme environments
Photosynthesis faces challenges from environmental extremes of temperature, pH, and salinity, limiting gas diffusion, modifying membrane fluidity, and destabilizing photochemical and biochemical reactions. Photosynthetic organisms have evolved unique adaptations overcoming these stresses and maintaining their photosynthetic activity.

X-ray reflectometric studies of nanoparticulate hematite films to decouple the rough and smooth behaviors of it and crystallographic and morphological properties concerning fatty acid chain length [PDF]
In this study, the use of X-Ray reflectometry technique signifies the types of rough and smooth surfaces of hematite film prepared from different fatty acid derivatives of the iron salt. Followed by this, the film morphology and crystallographic properties concerning different fatty acid chain length have been discussed.

Suppressing fatty acid uptake by a fatty acid secreting saccharomyces cerevisiae strain [PDF]
Biodiesel, in the form of fatty acid esters, produced by oleaginous microorganisms, could represent an attractive alternative of renewable liquid biofuels. Lipid metabolism has been studied extensively in S.

In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

Gas chromatographic analytical method for the analysis of oxygenated polar fatty acids [PDF]
A gas chromatographic method for analysis of oxygenated polar fatty acids (epoxy, hydroxy and oxo) is described. The challenge of polar fatty analysis in the past has been interferences due to co-elution of the various compounds present in the complex ...
