Free Fatty Acids Profiles Are Related to Gut Microbiota Signatures and Short-Chain Fatty Acids

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
A growing body of evidence highlights the relevance of free fatty acids (FFA) for human health, and their role in the cross talk between the metabolic status and immune system.

Metabolomics of dietary fatty acid restriction in patients with phenylketonuria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Patients with phenylketonuria (PKU) have to follow a lifelong phenylalanine restricted diet. This type of diet markedly reduces the intake of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids especially long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA).

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

THE EFFECT OF HEMP PRЕSS CAKE FLOUR ON FATTY ACIDS COMPOSITION AND MICROBIOLOGICAL QUALITY OF GLUTEN FREE BREAD

open access: yesScientific Study & Research: Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Industry
The aim of this paper is to determine the impact of hemp press cake flour (HPCF) on fatty acids and the microbiological quality of gluten-free bread. Seven types of gluten-free bread with different amounts of HPCF (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 %) were ...

Study of the Royal Jelly Free Fatty Acids by Liquid Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (LC-HRMS)

open access: yesMetabolites, 2020
The lipidome of royal jelly (RJ) consists of medium-chained (8−12 carbon atoms) free fatty acids. We present herein a liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) method that permits the determination of RJ fatty acids and at the ...

The effect of dietary calcium and other nutritionally relevant divalent cations on fatty acid-soap formation : a dissertation presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Nutritional Sciences at Massey University, Manawatū, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A growing amount of scientific evidence appears to support a relationship between dietary calcium (Ca) and body weight where increased dietary Ca intake leads to weight reduction and the faecal excretion of several fatty acids.

Fatty acid composition of wild edible mushrooms species: a comparative study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A comparative study was developed on the total fatty acids composition of twelve wild edible mushroom species (Suillus bellini, Suillus luteus, Suillus granulatus, Hygrophorus agathosmus, Amanita rubescens, Russula cyanoxantha, Boletus edulis ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Differential mobilization of fatty acids from adipose tissue

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1996
Are the different fatty acids mobilized into plasma in proportion to their concentrations in adipose tissue triglyceride? To answer this question, we fed weaning rabbits a special diet to label the fat stores with a variety of dietary fatty acids.

Myocardial Uptake of Radioactively Labelled Free Fatty Acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Structural variations in the carbon chain of free fatty acids influence the uptake of free fatty acids in the myocardium. To enable the use of free fatty acids in nuclear cardiology, various methods of introducing gammaemitting isotopes have been ...
