Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Reliability Analysis of Subsystem in Balanced Hypercubes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The probability that a multiprocessor computer system has faults arises as the cardinality of the system grows. The subsystem reliability in a system, defined as the probability that there exists a fault-free subsystem of a specified cardinality when the

On Explicit Probability Densities Associated with Fuss-Catalan Numbers

open access: yes, 2010
In this note we give explicitly a family of probability densities, the moments of which are Fuss-Catalan numbers.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Free fermionic probability theory and k-theoretic schubert calculus

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
For each of the four particle processes given by Dieker and Warren, we show the n-step transition kernels are given by the (dual) (weak) refined symmetric Grothendieck functions up to a simple overall factor. We do so by encoding the particle dynamics as

A Bayesian reanalysis of the Standard versus Accelerated Initiation of Renal-Replacement Therapy in Acute Kidney Injury (STARRT-AKI) trial

open access: yesCritical Care, 2022
Background Timing of initiation of kidney-replacement therapy (KRT) in critically ill patients remains controversial. The Standard versus Accelerated Initiation of Renal-Replacement Therapy in Acute Kidney Injury (STARRT-AKI) trial compared two ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Relativistic Schrödinger equation and probability currents for free particles

open access: yesPracì Mìžnarodnogo Geometričnogo Centru
In this work, we start from the problem of quantizing the relativistic Hamiltonian of a free massive particle (rest mass different from 0), a problem exceptionally difficult in the standard approaches to quantum mechanics.

Effective Action in Free Probability

open access: yesMarkov Processes And Related Fields
Recent works have explored relations between classical and quantum statistical physics on the one hand and Voiculescu's theory of free probability on the other. Motivated by these results, the present work focuses on the notion of effective action, which is closely related to the large deviation rate function in classical probability and one-particle ...
