Quantification of Exercise-Induced Sarcomeric Damage in R349P Desmin Knock-In Mice: A New Approach in Myofibrillar Myopathy Research. [PDF]

open access: yesNeuropathol Appl Neurobiol
This study presents a new approach to quantifying sarcomeric lesions in cross‐sections of skeletal muscle tissue at the light microscope level. Using R349P‐desmin knock‐in mice, a model for the human R350P desminopathy, strenuous treadmill exercise was found to lead to a significant increase in xirp 1/2‐positive sarcomeric lesions in the soleus muscle.
