Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Direction of arrival estimation using the rotating equatorial microphone

open access: yesFrontiers in Signal Processing
Introduction: Direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of sound sources is an essential task of sound field analysis which typically requires two or more microphones. In this study, we present an algorithm that allows for DOA estimation using the previously

Joint azimuth-range jamming for ISAR based on time delay

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Aiming at the problem that azimuth cosinusoidal phase-modulation cannot be directly implemented in application, and two-dimensional modulation can only be carried out in azimuth and distance, respectively, a joint azimuth-range jamming method based on ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Wideband Burst-by-Burst Adaptive Modulation Using Reduced-Complexity In-Phase/Quadrature-Phase Turbo Equalization

open access: yes, 2002
The performance of burst-by-burst adaptive modulation is studied in conjunction with reduced complexity turbo equalization over a wideband multi-path Rayleigh fading channel.

Frequency-Domain Turbo Equalisation in Coded SC-FDMA Systems: EXIT Chart Analysis and Performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, we investigate the achievable performance of channel coded single-carrier frequency division multiple-access (SC-FDMA) systems employing various detection schemes, when communicating over frequency-selective fading channels.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Optimum Mode-Switching Assisted Adaptive Modulation

open access: yes, 2001
Adaptive modulation techniques combat fading by employing a suitable modulation mode depending on the instantaneous channel conditions for improving the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance or the average through-put.

Actively stabilized wavelength-insensitive carrier elimination from an electro-optically modulated laser beam

open access: yes, 2012
We demonstrate a simple and robust technique for removal of the carrier wave from a phase-modulated laser beam, using a noninterferometric method that is insensitive to the modulation frequency and instead exploits the polarization dependence of electro ...
