Effects of mitochondrial NADP+-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase deficiency on fructose-induced obesity in mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Obesity prevalence in the United States continues to increase and is associated with health consequences such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis, and hyperlipidemia.

Modeling and Optimization of Lactic Acid Synthesis by the Alkaline Degradation of Fructose in a Batch Reactor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The present work deals with the determination of the optimal operating conditions of lactic acid synthesis by the alkaline degradation of fructose. It is a complex transformation for which detailed knowledge is not available.

Interaction of MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode With KF‐AlF3‐Al2O3 at 800°C During Laboratory Scale Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

Fructose Malabsorption, Gut Microbiota and Clinical Consequences: A Narrative Review of the Current Evidence

open access: yesLife
Fructose malabsorption is characterized as the incomplete absorption of fructose in the small intestine. Fructose is one of the most common monosaccharides in the human diet.

Development of Sustainable MgO–C Refractories Using MgO–C Recyclates and a Novel Eco‐Friendly Fructose–Tannin Binder Crosslinked With Citric Acid

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops sustainable MgO–C refractories using recycled materials and eco‐friendly fructose–tannin binders. The enhanced performance of citric acid as a cross‐linker and functional additives on mechanical and thermomechanical properties was examined. Characterization included strength tests, immersion trials, and microstructural and inclusion

ANGPTL3 orchestrates hepatic fructose sensing and metabolism

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Fructose metabolism is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), but the regulatory mechanisms governing fructose uptake remain poorly understood.

Impact of Pre‐Oxidation Treatments on a Recycled MgO/Steel‐Composite as Carbon Free Anode in Aluminum‐Electrolysis Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

Absorption and metabolism of fructose and its relationship with human health

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2016
Fructose is a monosaccharide, which is greatly sweeter than glucose and sucrose. In recent years, high fructose corn syrup has been widely used in beverages and food industry globally.

Development of tools to facilitate the diagnosis of hereditary fructose intolerance

open access: yesJIMD Reports, 2023
Although hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) is an inborn error of fructose metabolism that classically presents at infancy, the diagnosis is often missed or delayed. In this study, we aimed to develop tools to facilitate the diagnosis of HFI.
