Linearizing nonlinear optics

open access: yes, 2016
In the framework of linear optics, light fields do not interact with each other in a medium. Yet, when their field amplitude becomes comparable to the electron binding energies of matter, the nonlinear motion of these electrons emits new dipole radiation

A Biomarker‐Driven Ovary–Endometrium Organ‐on‐a‐Chip Mimicking 3D Multicellular Complexity and Menstrual Cyclicity for Predicting Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.

FSH regulates fat accumulation and redistribution in aging through the Gαi/Ca2+/CREB pathway

open access: yesAging Cell, 2015
Increased fat mass and fat redistribution are commonly observed in aging populations worldwide. Although decreased circulating levels of sex hormones, androgens and oestrogens have been observed, the exact mechanism of fat accumulation and redistribution

IGF‐1 Deficiency Serves as an Integrated Biomarker Pathogenic Driver and Predictor in Poor Ovarian Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IGF‐1 deficiency underlies poor ovarian response (POR), as reduced levels in follicular fluid and granulosa cells impair antral follicle formation and compromise reproductive outcomes. Including IGF‐1 as a biomarker significantly enhances the accuracy of models predicting both PORrisk and pregnancy success.

Studies on the Comparative Response of Fibers Obtained from the Pastazzo of Citrus bergamia and Cladodes of Opuntia ficus-indica on In Vitro Model of Neuroinflammation

open access: yesPlants
Adhering to a healthy diet has a protective effect on human health, including a decrease in inflammatory diseases due to consuming fiber. The purpose of this manuscript was to obtain and compare two extracts based on fiber (BF and IF-C), derived from two

PFOS Disrupts Oocyte Maturation and Early Embryonic Development via Ovarian FOXK1 O‐GlcNAcylation in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) exposure disrupts oocyte maturation and early embryonic development. This study elucidates the mechanism by which enhanced O‐GlcNAcylation of FOXK1 underlies the PFOS‐induced reduction of progesterone levels in granulosa cells and the disturbance of follicular microenvironment.

Estimation of renin and D-dimer levels in women with polycystic ovary disease with or without coronavirus infection

open access: yesBaghdad Journal of Biochemistry and Applied Biological Sciences, 2022
Background and objective: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrinologic disorder among women of childbearing age. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an acute respiratory disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome ...

Expression and function of transient receptor potential channels in the female bovine reproductive tract [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
© 2016 Elsevier Inc. The epithelium lining the oviduct is critical for early reproductive events, many of which are mediated via intracellular calcium ions.

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Comparative Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlas Reveals the Genetic Regulation of Reproductive Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cross‐species single‐cell transcriptomic atlas of reproductive and central nervous system tissues from sheep and humans reveals conserved cellular programs and regulatory networks that regulated fertility. Integration with GWAS for sheep lifetime average litter size identifies UNC5–SLIT–BMP signaling as a core pathway coordinating neuroendocrine ...
