Abstract Cancer is a complex and heterogeneous disease characterized by various genetic and epigenetic alterations. Early diagnosis, accurate subtyping, and staging are essential for effective, personalized treatment and improved survival rates. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as biopsies, are invasive and carry operational risks that hinder ...

C-Terminal Truncation of α 1,6-Fucosyltransferase from Rhizobium Sp. does not Annul the Transferase Activity of the Enzyme [PDF]
6 pages.-- PMID: 11814863 [PubMed].Recently we have over-expressed the enzyme a 1,6-fucosyltransferase from Rhizobium sp. in Escherichia coli. In this heterologous system the enzyme was mainly expressed as inclusion bodies and the one that was expressed ...

SUMMARY The liverwort Marchantia polymorpha has emerged as an important plant model for developmental studies and may become central to elucidate the complex process of cell wall polysaccharide biosynthesis. This study comprehensively analyses the composition and structure of cell wall glycans across eight different M. polymorpha tissue types.

Biochemical characterization of Helicobacter pylori α-1,4 fucosyltransferase: metal ion requirement, donor substrate specificity and organic solvent stability [PDF]
The effect of metal ions on the activity, the donor substrate specificity, and the stability in organic solvents of Helicobacter pylori α-1,4 fucosyltransferase were studied. The recombinant enzyme was expressed as soluble form in E.

The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.

Profiling of aminoxyTMT-labeled bovine milk oligosaccharides reveals substantial variation in oligosaccharide abundance between dairy cattle breeds. [PDF]
Free milk oligosaccharides are bioactive molecules that function as prebiotics and prevent infections that commonly afflict developing infants. To date, few publications have examined the factors affecting bovine milk oligosaccharide production among ...

High expression FUT1 and B3GALT5 is an independent predictor of postoperative recurrence and survival in hepatocellular carcinoma. [PDF]
Cancer may arise from dedifferentiation of mature cells or maturation-arrested stem cells. Previously we reported that definitive endoderm from which liver was derived, expressed Globo H, SSEA-3 and SSEA-4.
