Palmitoylation of PSD‐95 Orchestrates Learning‐Dependent Metaplasticity in the Amygdala and Fear Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that fear learning specifically triggers PICK1/DHHC2‐dependent palmitoylation of PSD‐95 in the lateral amygdala. Fear conditioning induces the dissociation of DHHC5 from PSD‐95 and the association of PSD‐95 with DHHC2. DHHC2‐mediated palmitoylation of PSD‐95 is required for synaptic transmission and underlies fear learning–induced ...

Pollen flow and paternity in an isolated and non-isolated black walnut (Juglans nigra L.) timber seed orchard.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Artificial pollination of black walnut (Juglans nigra L.) is not practical and timber breeders have historically utilized only open-pollinated half-sib families.

S100A8/A9‐High Macrophages Activate Intestinal Fibroblasts via mCCL6/hCCL15‐CCR1 Axis to Drive Intestinal Fibrosis in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
S100A8/A9‐high macrophages are markedly enriched in the stenotic intestinal tissue of patients with Crohn's disease. These profibrotic macrophages secrete mCCL6 in a STAT3‐dependent manner. mCCL6 and its human ortholog hCCL15 activate fibroblasts via the CCR1 receptor, thereby driving excessive collagen deposition.

Growth differences within full-sib families of Picea abies (L.) Karst. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
In the present paper the reasons for differences in plant height within full-sib families of Norway spruce are discussed. In many cases it was shown that the duration of the growth period to some extent was responsible for the differences in plant height.

TET1 Inhibition Promotes Therapeutic Sensitivity in TP53‐Mutant GBM by Influencing Genome Fragility and Altering TAMs Biology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In TP53mut GBM cells, reduced P53 function is associated with increased TET1 expression. Genetic or pharmacological inhibition of TET1 correlates with genome fragility, including DNA damage, cellular senescence, telomere shortening, and reactive oxygen species accumulation, which may contribute to increased efficacy of antitumor therapy.

Synergizing Covalent‐Ionic Tri‐Site Coordination in P2‐type Na0.67Fe0.33Mn0.67O2 Induces Suppressed Layer‐Slipping and Stablized Lattice Oxygen for Sodium‐Ion Batteries at Wide Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Trans‐sublattice Cu/Mg/F three‐site coordination simultaneously stabilizes the oxygen framework and suppresses irreversible P2‐O2 phase transition and Jahn‐Teller distortion in Fe/Mn‐based layered cathodes. The optimized NFCMMOF enables highly reversible Fe3+/Fe4+ redox chemistry, accelerated Na+ transport, and robust interfacial kinetics, delivering ...

Estimation of Genetic Components in Popcorn Based on the Nested Design

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2001
The quantification of genetic components in a base population is essential for the definition of the best breeding strategy to maximize the genetic gains.

In Situ Profiling of Nanoscale Strains Uncovers Mechano‐Architectural Predictors of Aging and Osteoarthritis Emergence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In situ mechanical loading of osteoarthritis‐prone murine knee joints reveals that spatial alterations in subchondral plate microarchitecture precede cartilage loss and promote a shift from coordinated epiphyseal strain dissipation in healthy joints to focal subchondral strain concentration in osteoarthritis‐prone joints.

Computation and Structure‐Guided Arginine Scanning Engineers a Hyperactive AP Endonuclease for Multiplex Viral RNA Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Computational and structure‐guided arginine scanning rewires the DNA‐binding interface of APE1 to create APE1‐Evo, a hyperactive yet specific AP endonuclease. Integrated into the NAPTUNE‐V2.0 cascade, APE1‐Evo enables amplification‐free, multiplex viral RNA sensing for dengue virus and influenza A/B, highlighting a general strategy for engineering ...

Dual Lineages of Langerhans Cells Cooperate to Restore the Immune Barrier after Skin Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After skin injury, the epidermal immune barrier is rebuilt by two sources of Langerhans cells. Resident Langerhans cells first move into the wound during re‐epithelialization, guided by CXCR2 signaling. Later, recruited monocytes become long‐lived Langerhans cells.
