An Extremely Hot Pulsating Prewhite Dwarf from OGLE

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We show that the blue 18.3 minutes variable object discovered in the Galactic disk by the OGLE-III survey and named OGLE-GD-WD-0001 is a pulsating prewhite dwarf of PG 1159 spectral type.

Accurate Fundamental Stellar Parameters

open access: yes, 2009
We combine results from interferometry, asteroseismology and spectroscopic analyses to determine accurate fundamental parameters (mass, radius and effective temperature) of 10 bright solar-type stars covering the H-R diagram from spectral type F5 to K1 ...

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Low-mass Eclipsing Binaries KIC 4908495, KIC 6466939, and KIC 9474485: Isolated Pre-main-sequence Systems?

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a detailed analysis of three Kepler eclipsing binaries, KIC 4908495, KIC 6466939, and KIC 9474485. Our analysis reveals that these systems are composed of components possessing a lower mass than our Sun with slight subsolar metallicities ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Photometric and Spectroscopic Studies of Two Early-type Eclipsing Binaries

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Using high-precision photometric data from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, medium-resolution spectroscopic data from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopy Telescope, and long-term eclipse timings, we provide orbital parameters for

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Spectral classification of stars using synthetic model atmospheres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We devised a straightforward procedure to derive the atmosphere fundamental parameters of stars across the different MK spectral types by comparing mid-resolution spectroscopic observations with theoretical grids of synthetic spectra. The results of a ...
