Furanocoumarins from Heracleum canescens

Phytochemistry, 1982
Abstract The ethanolic extract of the fresh roots of Heracleum canescens has afforded, besides sitosterol, osthol, methyl 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoate and 11 furanocoumarins.

Leaf furanocoumarins of Heracleum lanatum [PDF]

open access: goldPhytochemistry, 1970
Abstract Sphondin is the principal furanocoumarin of Heracleum lanatum leaves; pimpinellin, isopimpinellin, bergapten, xanthotoxin, isobergapten, psoralen and angelicin were also identified. At least eleven other furanocoumarins were present.

Biosynthesis of linear furanocoumarins

Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1970
Labelling experiments with 14C and 3H have shown that linear furanocoumarins of Ammi majus, Angelica archangelica, Heracleum lanatum (Umbelliferae), and Ruta graveolens (Rutaceae) are formed from umbelliferone via the dihydrofuranocoumarin, marmesin.

Isopimpinellin, a furanocoumarin

Journal of Crystal and Molecular Structure, 1977
Isopimpinellin (5,8-dimethoxypsoralen), C13H10O5, is a furanocoumarin isolated from the leaves and stems ofA pium australe Thouars. (Umbelliferae) collected near Concepcion, Chile. Extracts of the plant show activity against P-388 lymphocytic leukemia.

O-methyltransferases of furanocoumarin biosynthesis

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1978
Extracts of the furanocoumarin-synthesizing plants, Ruta graveolens L. and Heracleum lanatum Michx., contain a soluble O-methyltransferase system mediating the methylation of the 5- and 8-hydroxyls of linear furanocoumarins by S-adenosyl- l -methionine.

Insect Antifeedant Furanocoumarins from Tetradium daniellii.

ChemInform, 2003
The dried fruits of Tetradium daniellii yielded a new linear furanocoumarin, 5-(6-hydroxy-3,7-dimethylocta-2,7-dienyloxy)psoralen, together with six other structurally related furanocoumarins. A similar chemical profile was recorded by HPLC analysis of a fragment of T.

Quantitative Recovery of Furanocoumarins fromPsoralea bituminosa

Phytochemical Analysis, 1997
The occurrence of bound coumarin derivatives in the Fabaceae has already been demonstrated. In an attempt to determine the yield of furanocoumarins following exhaustive recovery from Psoralea bituminosa, three different hydrolytic procedures have been employed. Method 1 involved the methanolic extraction of plant material followed by acid hydrolysis of

Antigenotoxic activity of naturally occurring furanocoumarins

Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, 2011
This study was designed to investigate the antigenotoxic effects of a series of naturally occurring furanocoumarins (NOFs) including isoimperatorin, imperatorin, (+)-oxypeucedanin, (+)-byakangelicol, and (+)-byakangelicine on antigenotoxic activities against genotoxicity induced by carcinogens [furylfuramide and N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine ...
