Fusarium temperatumsp. nov. from maize, an emergent species closely related toFusarium subglutinans

open access: yesMycologia, 2011
A large number of Fusarium isolates closely related to F. subglutinans were collected from maize in Belgium. We used a robust polyphasic approach to describe a new biological species, Fusarium temperatum, within the Gibberella fujikuroi species complex. F. temperatum can be distinguished from F.

Biological Control of Spartina alterniflora by a Fungal-Fusarium subglutinans

open access: yes2012 International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology, 2012
Spartina alterniflora Loisel. is a serious exotic and invasive weed in many nations including China. In present study, the method of biocontrol was used to control the weed by a fungal pathogen-Fusarium subglutinans. In addition, we compared the conidia of F. subglutinans with the metabolite virulence.

Cryptic speciation inFusarium subglutinans

Mycologia, 2002
Fusarium isolates that form part of the Gibberella fujikuroi species complex have been classified using either a morphological, biological, or phylogenetic species concept. Problems with the taxonomy of Fusarium species in this complex are mostly experienced when the morphological and biological species concepts are applied.

Abberrant conidiogenesis in a Fusarium subglutinans isolate

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1988
Short chains of microconidia were observed in a culture of Fusarium subglutinans. Transmission electron microscopy showed this to be aberrant conidiogenesis, where phialides produced microconidia which in turn acted as phialides to give the impression of catenate conidium production.

MANGO CULTIVARS BEHAVIOR IN RELATION TO FUSARIUM SUBGLUTINANS

Acta Horticulturae, 2004
The mango malformation, caused by the fungus Fusarium subglutinans Wollenweb & Reinking, is probably one of the diseases that causes more damages in the mangoes production in Brazil and other producing countries. This fungus was isolated of a Tommy Atkins plant with advanced symptoms of malformation, purified and prepared to be inoculated in 15 ...

Occurrence and toxicity ofFusarium subglutinans from Peruvian maize

Mycopathologia, 1993
Twenty-five samples of maize kernels collected at harvest time from geographically different corn fields in Peru, were examined for the occurrence of toxigenic Fusarium species. The most frequently recovered species were F. subglutinans (48%), F. moniliforme (46%), and F. equiseti (5%). Other Fusarium species isolated (up to 1%) included F. graminearum,

Cryptic subspecies and beauvericin production by Fusarium subglutinans from Europe

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2008
Fusarium subglutinans is a maize ear rot pathogen and producer of beauvericin and other mycotoxins. This species has recently been split into two major phylogenetic within-species groups based on RFLP DNA sequence polymorphisms identified in the histone H3 and beta-tubulin sequences. A Pan European collection of the fungus originating mostly from maize
