Iridium‐Catalyzed Ionic Hydrogenation of Multi‐Aza Heterocycles
Saturated nitrogen‐containing heterocycles are ubiquitous in bioactive molecules and are thus attractive synthetic targets. A readily accessible cyclometalated iridium(III) complex reduces 14 different aromatic aza heterocycles to (partially)saturated multi aza‐heterocycles enlarging accessible chemical space while displaying high tolerance toward ...

Reactions of fused pyrrole-2,3-diones with binucleophiles [PDF]
This review summarizes a series of studies on the reactions of 1 H-pyrrole-2,3-diones, fused at the C 5 -N 1 bond to nitrogen-containing heterocycles, with nucleophiles, leading to the formation of C-C bonds. Reactions of pyrrolobenzoxazinetrione and pyrroloquinoxalinetrione with CH,OH-, CH,NH-binucleophiles, and dienophiles are discussed.

Escaping the Scaling Relationships in Oxygen Reduction Catalysis: Implications for PEM Fuel Cells
Escaping the scaling relationships of the oxygen reduction reaction is vital for hydrogen fuel cells. This outlook examines how interfacial heterogeneity, spanning the subsurface lattice, chemisorption layer, and near‐interface solvation volume, mechanistically decouples intermediate binding energetics.

A facile and efficient synthesis of pyrrole and pyrrole-fused heterocyclic compounds has been demonstrated. The current protocol involves the in situ generation of azomethine ylides which undergoes intermolecular cycloaddition reaction and subsequent treatment with DDQ provides the pyrrole and fused heterocyclic compounds in good yields.
