Gasdermin‐Mediated Pyroptosis: Novel Strategies Against Colorectal Cancer
Pyroptosis is a double‐edged sword in colorectal cancer (CRC): chronic low‐grade pyroptosis promotes tumor progression, whereas acute induction of pyroptosis in cancer cells triggers antitumor immunity and enhances therapeutic response. Targeting gasdermin‐mediated pyroptosis represents a promising strategy for CRC treatment.

Lemierre's Syndrome Case Secondary to Otitis Media
Lemierre’s syndrome is a rare but fatal thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein (IJV). It usually follows acute oropharyngeal infections in healthy, young adults. Fusobacterium necrophorum is the most common bacteria that causes Lemierre’s syndrome,

Understanding the role of different strain types of Fusobacterium necrophorum: biofilms, glycans and metabolic pathways [PDF]
Fusobacterium necrophorum an obligate Gram-negative anaerobe has been implicated in the cause of persistent severe throat infections and the systemic life-threatening Lemierre’s syndrome; a potentially fatal periodontal disease, which results in abscess ...

ABSTRACT Aim This cross‐sectional study aimed to compare the endodontic microbiome assessed from root canals of teeth associated with either symptomatic or asymptomatic apical periodontitis and analysed by 16S rDNA gene sequencing. Methodology 60 teeth presenting clinical and radiographic signs of symptomatic or asymptomatic apical periodontitis (n ...

Mechanistic studies of Fusobacterium genetic and defense systems
Fusobacterium are Gram-negative anaerobic bacteria that colonize a variety of eukaryotes including cattle and humans. In humans, Fusobacterium coordinates the central architecture of the oral biofilm by expressing an abundance of outer membrane adhesins ...

ABSTRACT Aim To characterize the intracanal microbiota and identify key microbial taxa and functional pathways associated with regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) outcomes. Methodology In this observational cohort study, 196 samples were collected at five time points from external tooth surfaces (T1, T4) and root canals (T2, T3, T5).
