Abstract Background Current peri‐implantitis treatment methods are modeled after dental cleaning modalities like abrasive surface cleaning. However, mechanical abrasive cleaning not only inadequately removes implant biofilms but also compromises implant surface integrity with adverse biological effects.

Genetic Manipulation and Virulence Assessment of Fusobacterium nucleatum
Considered a commensal, the Gram‐negative anaerobe Fusobacterium nucleatum is a key member of the oral microbiome due to its wide range of interactions with many oral microbes. While the periodontal pathogenic properties of this organism have widely been

Diagnostic modulation of subgingival proteomic biomarkers by age and smoking habits in periodontitis
Abstract Background Although age and smoking influence the periodontal proteome, their impact on subgingival biomarkers for diagnosing periodontitis remains unclear. This multicenter study assessed their influence on subgingival proteins for disease detection.

Pulmonary and thoracic infection by Fusobacterium nucleatum.
Fusobacterium nucleatum is an anaerobic bacillus that is part of the oral microbiota and dental pla que. This can cause local and potentially remote infections, which are exceptional in pediatrics. Ob jective: To present the case of a patient with lung injury with chest wall invasion by Fusobacterium nucleatum. An 11-year-old female immunocompetent ...
