Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Futures of the climate action movement: Insights from an integral futures approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, I use a Wilberian integral futures approach to examine visions of the future within the climate action movement and identify sources of agreement and contention.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Alternative Futures of Occupational Therapy and Therapists

open access: yes, 2007
Alternatives Futures of Occupational Therapy are explored. These scenarios include: (1) business as usual where the future is known – traditional bureaucracies and traditional caseloads; (2) social justice based focused on rights; (3) transformative ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Purposes and Assumptions of Islamic Futures Studies [PDF]

open access: yesبهبود مدیریت, 2014
Futures Studies is a knowledge based on practice and cannot be merely shaped by theoretic thoughts. Therefore we can not describe futures studies well until it has got practical.

Back to futures: futures studies and its role in addressing the great civilisational challenges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Concern for human futures can arguably be said to be at its most urgent in the history of humanity. Viable alternative human futures seem to be on the decline as emergencies that threaten humanity increase.
