The kinetics of G‐CSF folding [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Science, 2002
AbstractThe folding kinetics of G‐CSF were determined by trp‐fluorescence and far‐UV circular dichroism. Folding and unfolding was achieved by rapid dilution and mixing of the denaturant, GdnHCl. G‐CSF is a four‐helical bundle protein with two long loops between the first and second helices and between the third and fourth helices.

G-CSF Prevents the Progression of Structural Disintegration of White Matter Tracts in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: A Pilot Trial

open access: yes, 2011
Background: The hematopoietic protein Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) has neuroprotective and regenerative properties. The G-CSF receptor is expressed by motoneurons, and G-CSF protects cultured motoneuronal cells from apoptosis.

Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor attenuates myocardial remodeling and ventricular arrhythmia susceptibility via the JAK2-STAT3 pathway in a rabbit model of coronary microembolization

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2020
Background Coronary microembolization (CME) has a poor prognosis, with ventricular arrhythmia being the most serious consequence. Understanding the underlying mechanisms could improve its management.

Pathophysiological Roles of G-CSF

open access: yesJournal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology, 1992
G-CSF is produced by a variety of cells. In situ hybridization showed that only a small proportion of stromal cells expressed G-CSF after stimulation with LPS or IL-1. The measurement of serum G-CSF level by enzyme immunoassay provided valuable information as to the pathophysiological roles of G-CSF. In aplastic anemia, there was an inverse correlation

SB203580 increases G-CSF production via a stem-loop destabilizing element in the 3 ' untranslated region in macrophages independently of its effect on p38 MAPK activity

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a major regulator of the production and survival of neutrophils. Regulation of G-CSF expression is complex and occurs at both transcription and post-transcription levels.

On-demand plerixafor added to high-dose cyclophosphamide and pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor in the mobilization of patients with multiple myeloma: a treatment with high effectiveness, convenient, and affordable cost

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
ObjectiveThe combination of high-dose cyclophosphamide (HD-Cy) (3g/m2) plus granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and on-demand plerixafor (PXF) has been considered an effective mobilization regimen of patients with multiple myeloma(MM). However,

Granulocyte colony‐stimulating factor attenuates liver damage by M2 macrophage polarization and hepatocyte proliferation in alcoholic hepatitis in mice

open access: yesHepatology Communications, 2022
Massive inflammation and liver failure are main contributors to the high mortality in alcohol‐associated hepatitis (AH). In recent clinical trials, granulocyte colony‐stimulating factor (G‐CSF) therapy improved liver function and survival in patients ...

Glutamine Deprivation Promotes the Generation and Mobilization of MDSCs by Enhancing Expression of G-CSF and GM-CSF

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Solid tumors are often challenged by hypoxic and nutrient-deprived tumor microenvironments (TME) as tumors progress, due to limited perfusion and rapid nutrient consumption.

Molecular Cloning, Expression and Purification of G-CSF Isoform D, an Alternative Splice Variant of Human G-CSF

open access: yesIranian Journal of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, 2019
Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is the major regulator of hemopoiesis and granulopoiesis. However, overexpression of G-CSF has been implicated in several important processes in tumor biology such as tumor growth, angiogenesis, and ...

G-CSF and G-CSFR Modulate CD4 and CD8 T Cell Responses to Promote Colon Tumor Growth and Are Potential Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Cytokines are known to shape the tumor microenvironment and although progress has been made in understanding their role in carcinogenesis, much remains to learn regarding their role in tumor growth and progression.
