Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

The novel CXCR4 antagonist POL5551 mobilizes hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells with greater efficiency than Plerixafor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Mobilized blood has supplanted bone marrow (BM) as the primary source of hematopoietic stem cells for autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Randomized and dose-escalation trials of recombinant human serum albumin /granulocyte colony-stimulating factor in patients with breast cancer receiving anthracycline-containing chemotherapy

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2021
Background To evaluate the efficacy and safety of recombinant human serum albumin /granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (rHSA/G-CSF) in breast cancer following receipt of cytotoxic agents.

Pathophysiological Roles of G-CSF

open access: yesJournal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology, 1992
G-CSF is produced by a variety of cells. In situ hybridization showed that only a small proportion of stromal cells expressed G-CSF after stimulation with LPS or IL-1. The measurement of serum G-CSF level by enzyme immunoassay provided valuable information as to the pathophysiological roles of G-CSF. In aplastic anemia, there was an inverse correlation

G-CSF, the guardian of granulopoiesis

open access: yesSeminars in Immunology, 2021
A considerable amount of continuous proliferation and differentiation is required to produce daily a billion new neutrophils in an adult human. Of the few cytokines and factors known to control neutrophil production, G-CSF is the guardian of granulopoiesis.

Cost-effectiveness of febrile neutropenia prevention with primary versus secondary G-CSF prophylaxis for adjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer: a systematic review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The adoption of primary (PP) versus secondary prophylaxis (SP) of febrile neutropenia (FN), with granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (G-CSF), for adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) regimens in breast cancer (BC) could be affected by its “value for money ...

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

The Effect of Granulocyte Colony–Stimulating Factor on Immune-Modulatory Cytokines in the Bone Marrow Microenvironment and Mesenchymal Stem Cells of Healthy Donors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) is sometimes administered to donors before bone marrow (BM) harvest. G-CSF–primed (G-BM) and unprimed BM (U-BM)–derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) were obtained from 16 healthy donors and were expanded in ...
