Cognitively Diagnostic Analysis Using the G-DINA Model in R [PDF]

open access: yesPsych, 2021
Cognitive diagnosis models (CDMs) have increasingly been applied in education and other fields. This article provides an overview of a widely used CDM, namely, the G-DINA model, and demonstrates a hands-on example of using multiple R packages for a ...

Evaluating the Fit of Sequential G-DINA Model Using Limited-Information Measures. [PDF]

open access: yesAppl Psychol Meas, 2020
Limited-information fit measures appear to be promising in assessing the goodness-of-fit of dichotomous response cognitive diagnosis models (CDMs), but their performance has not been examined for polytomous response CDMs. This study investigates the performance of the M ord statistic and ...

Applying GenAI to Optimize Q-Matrix Construction for Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment in EFL Reading [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Intelligence
Q-matrix construction is a foundational yet challenging step in cognitive diagnostic assessment (CDA), which is traditionally reliant on labor-intensive and subjective methods like expert judgment and verbal report analysis.

Model Data Fit Comparison between DINA and G-DINA in Cognitive Diagnostic Models [PDF]

open access: yesEducation Journal, 2013
In this study, item and model data fit indices, calculated by DINA and G-DINA Models using the same sample and Q matrix, are analyzed. Fit indices for these two models from Cognitive Diagnostic Models are analyzed using 2LL, AIC and BIC statistics. Item fit indices are analyzed using residual correlations and probabilities.

Model Selection for Cogitative Diagnostic Analysis of the Reading Comprehension Test

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
Reading subskills are generally regarded as continuous variables, while most models used in the previous reading diagnoses have the hypothesis that the latent variables are dichotomous.

An Empirical Q-Matrix Validation Method for the Polytomous G-DINA Model

open access: yesPsychometrika, 2022
A number of empirically based Q-matrix validation methods are available in the literature, all of which were developed for cognitive diagnosis models (CDMs) involving dichotomous attributes. However, in many applications, it is more instructionally relevant to classify students into more than two categories (e.g., no mastery, basic mastery, and ...

Test-level and Item-level Model Fit Comparison of General vs. Specific Diagnostic Classification Models: A Case of True DCM

open access: yesLanguage Testing in Asia, 2021
The current study compared the model fit indices, skill mastery probabilities, and classification accuracy of six Diagnostic Classification Models (DCMs): a general model (G-DINA) against five specific models (LLM, RRUM, ACDM, DINA, and DINO).
